Meet John and Cat Parks

The Trinity Ranch was founded in 1991, by John Parks whose concept of perfection on earth was the unspoken bond shared by the "Trinity" - a cowboy, his horse, and his dog.

When John and Cat met in 2006, two very different horse worlds collided. John enjoyed starting colts, cowboying, and branding. Cat, a former rodeo queen, college equitation instructor, and University equestrian team Coach, ran a 75+ student riding program. They started a few colts together and a partnership was born.

In early 2008, the unthinkable happened. Cat was diagnosed with a rare cancer. She spent nearly a year receiving chemotherapy and treatment with John by her side. Following her recovery, they made a promise to one another to share their horses and passion for knowledge with others.

Today, John and Cat travel across the United States teaching horsemanship clinics. By combining John's experience with colts, problem horses, and ranching with Cat's years of teaching in an academic setting along with her national-level show experience, they provide a highly individualized clinic that addresses the development of the horse's training through better understanding and skill development of the rider.

When not on the road for clinics or shows, John and Cat's time is divided between their two facilities: their horse operation in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and their ranch headquarters in Hamilton County, Texas where they raise horses, run cattle, and enjoy their corgis. Their 8 year old son Pierce is the highlight of their lives.

The Trinity Ranch celebrates 27 years of history.  While the "Trinity" has grown substantially in meaning, it has not strayed far from its origin: the unspoken bond of a cowboy's family, his horses, and his dogs.
